This and That
A TEXTBOOK CASE...
We gave out textbooks today. I don't know about any of my other teacher friends, but this is how I determine who gets what textbook...I have a big stack in front of me. Most of them fall under the "average wear and tear" but if I have really pretty (and/or the rare NEW one) I make sure that a good student (or a so so student with a good attitude) gets those because they are the ones who will actually open and use the books. I give the really crappy looking books to the jerkwads and/or the ones who never come to school. Do you (fellow teachers) do the same or do it in a random way? Should I be ashamed of my textbook procedures? :)
BATTERY
I have no music in my car. My radio and cd player do not work ever since the big "dead battery moment" at Walmart. (You are supposed to punch in the code to reactivate the stupid thing and of course we don't have the code! Weird, huh?) We'll eventually go get an override code from the dealership, but you know what? I'm kind of enjoying the quiet. I get to listen to the rain, to the tires, to Luke babbling in the back seat or him saying, "FLAG! FIRETRUCK! STUCK!!!"
Sooner or later, we'll go get the code, but for now I'm okay without it.
PIGGY BACK RIDE
I gave Luke a piggy back ride on Sunday morning, when he saw me on the floor, cleaning up. "Ride, Mama?" (As he climbed on my back.) "Sure, baby. Here we go!!!!" I took a few steps, acted like a horsie, then promptly got thrown up on. Mainly in my hair. It was curdled milk throw up. It was also disgusting. I ran me and the boy into the tub and woke Chris up, telling him to go clean up the rug, that it was all over and I had it in my hair. When I got out of the tub, Chris told me, "I was going all CSI over here. You said you had it in your hair, and it's here too, and your cereal is over there..."
LONG HUG
I love rocking Luke to sleep at night. When he's draped over me longwise (rare these days because he's getting soooo tall) it's like a long hug. I really love the lullabies we listen to as we rock too. Always gets me really drowsy too.
KARR
I'm really disappointed that the DNA didn't match. What a loon. I hope we find out who really did it one day. That, and I hope OJ confesses to someone about killing his wife (or that Sidney and that boy remember key evidence and tell the police).
BETA INVITES
Not doing it. Don't worry bout it. Sounds like a lot of trouble to me. Someone else do it and tell me how that goes. Beta is faster though--I'm enjoying that part of it. Photos aren't uploading though (at the moment). Anyone else having this problem?

1. Textbook---hilarious! Sounds like a perfect way to distribute to me :-)
2. Battery---You may get used to not having all the noise & realize you get to think a lot. It may be beneficial. Currently I listen to the music b/c I love it & it helps me NOT think about everything I have going on..haha.
3. Piggy Back Ride---ugh! That is awful but my nephew has a tendency to throw up on people, my mom in particular. It seems he makes it a point to run across the room to her just so he can throw up on her lap. We have come to the conclusion it is better for the carpet if it lands on mom so we just deal with it.
4. Long hug--enjoy it while you can.
5. Karr--I am sooooo disappointed. I pray they do get the person but we all knew Karr was really crazy.
6. Beta--I checked it out for a minute..I read some stuff on it & it did seem like a real pain in the butt. Only a few people read mine & less people actually post but ours is not published & I want to keep it that way.
ALSO, Beta is giving me some trouble when I try to comment on other people's blogs. UGH!!! Frustrating. Wish I hadn't switched now. They better fix this bug quick!
Now when I view your blog I can't see the profile pics..it tells me some things on your site are not secure??
Battery - I know how you feel. I cut off my cable not long after I moved to Bham to save money. It still amazes me how we adapt to what we're given. Yes, I could turn it back on now, but it has drastically reduced my TV time and forced me to do other things - mostly read - which I love. Reading was my favorite hobby growing up and it's becoming that again. I have also learned to enjoy a few shows on the few major network channels I get and have been very happy without the rest. So, good for you and the battery.
3. The result was messy, but the intention and gesture too cute!!
