Wanna Be Invited?
I'm considering making the switch to Blogger Beta, which will only allow my blog to be read by friends and family (by invites). Obviously, this is for job concerns as well as for the fact that I worry about weirdos looking at Luke's photos. You just never know... If you like to read me and you never post (I'm looking at you, Stephie!) let me know so I can invite you. Email me at hello(myname) AT yahoo.com or just leave me a message here.

I have a friend that switched over & it didn't mess with her custom template.
If you ONLY want readers who know you then yes, you should switch.
People like "Stephie" may or may not request the password, though so you are likely to lose at least some readers.
I don't know yet what I'm gonna do. Gonna mull it over.
Let me know about it..I would be happy to switch b/c that is what I wanted for myself anyway, I just didn't know it existed. I used this b/c you had it..but I am totally interested in switching for myself & I honestly think it would be a good idea for you to.
I changed to bloggerbeta but I haven't done the whole invite thing. I'm still thinking. Not sure about it yet.
I'm always on the fence about the invite/password thing. Blogging is weird - on one hand you want lots of readers, on the other you don't want weirdos looking at your kid. I'm right there with you. Remember, my kid was the namelss one forever and I'm still questioning whether I should have come out of the closet with his name.

I had a password protected blog a couple years ago, complete with like FIVE whole readers.

How's that beta working out for ya now that you've changed? I was thinking about switching yesterday too but I wanted to wait for someone else to do it first. Yep, you get to be my guinea pig.
As far as invites go...I think for your purposes it might just be a good idea after all. I know there's a lot of things you speak your mind about that you might not want some strange people reading.
Invites only wouldn't do any good for me since there are only 3 maybe 4 people that read my blog....and I know who they are. : )
Okay, this is Stephanie and my sister, Stacy, tipped me off that I might want to comment. I should start off by saying that I am a big ole "blurker" and I RARELY post comments (seriously, maybe once or twice before.) It's out of sheer laziness as I don't ever sign up for screen names, etc (I'm grateful for the "anonymous" option!) I'm even more hesitant to post on your website because I know that you are a teacher, an English teacher at that, and I'm too lazy and out of practice at this point to come up with clever little posts that everyone can enjoy. And obviously, I haven't mastered the art of the concise comment. But if I am indeed the "Stephie" you mentioned, I will try to be better about posting and saying hello! As my sister can attest, I can be strong-armed into posting if called out by name and/or relationship.
More to the point, if I had to vote "password or no password," it would be "nay" for me, again out of laziness. I know there all these handy dandy password programs but I don't use those either. I still enjoy reading your posts and catching up on your son but let me say, I give a resounding "Yea" to keeping all the pervs off your page, especially with ole John Mark Karr soon to be roaming the streets.

Well..once you log in you can book mark the page & save your name & password & not login every single time. Well that works for me anyway..
