No Child Left Behind (Gasp!) Having Problems?

You don't say. President Bush, NCLB is one of the worst things to happen to public education.
Codename: "Every Child Left Behind, Way Behind" or "Everyone Loses!"

Some of these kids have no business in the regular education classroom. They do not benefit from it. The "normal" ability kids certainly don't get to move as quickly as they need to, especially if they get stuck in a classroom overcrowded with IEPs overflowing off my desk. I never imagined I'd teach in a class crowded with 2 to 3 other ADULTS (inclusion teachers and aides for kids with severe behavior problems). The testing. The testing. The testing. The paperwork. The paperwork. The paperwork. UGH.

Unbelievable. I remember my profs hinting at NCLB when I was in grad school, but the reality has been an eyeopener.

Oh, and I hope everyone understands that the AYP test that just came in? Totally ridiculous and YOU couldn't make AYP. Question things more, people. Stop pointing fingers at the local schools and tsk tsking them. Oh, and the rough school that made AYP? Look closer. That's all I'm sayin'.

Meanwhile, I am going to have to spend my own family's money to purchase an overhead bulb on Monday during my planning period because the teachers have not received our spending money for the classroom yet and I can't teach without my overhead (used to---before NCLB, when I didn't have to teach to the test every day of my life).

Just a little bitter this morning.

Amen, sister. Did you get the memo about where to buy overheads? Ask Tanda if you can have a purchase order for it! :)

I just skimmed this today. It doesn't look like Montgomery was affected but one in Wetumpka was. http://www.montgomeryadvertiser.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060320/NEWS02/60320005

Oh, it's totally not the schools fault or the teachers fault. We have Bush to thank for this NCLB crap that creates all this bussing kids all over town crap which leads to what would be good schools to be crap! It's a chain reaction that leads to nothing but crap! Crap is my word of the day, can ya tell?! lol

Ugh, don't even get me started on NCLB. Absolutely THE WORST THING EVER to come about in public schools. Ever.

And Tanda? In the office? She's still there? Wow! My mom made her daughter a Christmas dress when I was an office worker waaaaaaay back in the day.
