Paper, Hot Glue, Mr. B, and Frank

Thanks go out to Karen! My sis sent me a whole bunch of scrapbook paper out of the blue!

I spent some time up at my classroom putting some new posters up. I love the smell of the hot glue gun....Kristy was up there too. Her a/c isn't working now. Mine is finally working after complaining about it for about a month...I also found out someone in summer school went through my book box (teacher materials) that I had to turn in last May (I knew it would be messed with!) and some of my important stuff is missing. Really frustrating. Oh well. What can I do about it? Nothing.

I was out in the yard yesterday, talking with Marie and laughing about her crazy ex when I realized that Mr. Bob was sitting in a car next door. He was all dressed up in his best suit, obviously waiting for his children to come out and take him to his wife's funeral. I stopped laughing and looked at him. He had a stroke many years ago and can't talk, but you can read his thoughts by his eyes. He stared at me sadly. I held my hand up and he did the same. Chris and I debated whether or not we should go to the funeral. Chris had made them a dinner and we took it to the family on Sunday and he plans to make Mr. Bob's favorite--gumbo--later this week. We decided that it was best that we didn't go, but keep taking care of him in that manner.

Did anyone see that crazy guy on Dr. Phil who thought that "Hollywood" was talking to him? Wow.

Frank is now an inside dog again. He went to the doggie doc and got cleaned, massaged, and he's all smell good now. As Chris said, "He got the treatment from the snooter to the pooter." It's good to have him back inside. You don't even want to know the vet bill. Egads. Some of you have asked about Stella. The last time I talked to the student who adopted her, she said that Stella is an indoor dog now too! Can you believe it? She still soils the carpets and they let her stay inside? Ha. She also sleeps with the kids. They love her. I'm so glad she found a "forever home". It's her third forever home. Heh.

I'd forgotten about your blue classroom!!! How can it be time for school again already??
Sounds like you and Chris did the perfect thing for your neighbor. Y'all are some good people! :)
Aww, we try to be. We "ain't perfect" by any means. ;)
It's a good thing what y'all are doing. I've always read that when someone looses someone that it's hardest once the funeral is done and everyone else has gone back to their normal routine because that persons “normal” routine no longer exists. By doing what y’all are doing lets him know someone still cares—even after everyone else has gone.
Definitely good people...the gumbo sounds like the perfect way to let him know you are thinking about him (and probably let his family know that there are people nearby keeping tabs on him, too). Both are very nice things to do.
Today he's sitting on the front porch with one of his "sitters". He seems so lost. :(
