Of Templates and CDs...

Excellent! I was able to use the template that Crystal made for me after all! The font size was too big originally and I was able to go in and change the font after a bit of studying the html of my other (older, "green" 565) blog. So yay. Thank you again, Crystal. :)

Max sent me the most fantastic CD mix of songs. I never look at the list of songs before I put it in---I like being surprised. I have loved being the recipient of Max's mix tapes and cds since 94, when we met in college at AU. The songs that made me smile the biggest off this last collection? The ones that took me back to being a little girl in the early /mid 80s. I heard these songs and immediately felt like I was 9 years old, putting my clip on earrings on, applying the Bonne Bell lipsmacker and of course, pushing my oversized glasses up on my face. Here are the favorites from the CD, which is currently playing as I drive around this HOT town:
"More Love" by Kim Carnes
"Driving My Life Away" by Eddie Rabbitt
"You Should Hear How She Talks About You" by Melissa Manchester
"Steal Away" ("Why don't we steal away...why don't we steal away...into the night") by Robbie Dupree
"One Night in Bangkok" (a nice dancy version) by Vinylshakerz

Songs that made me feel all college-y:
"Photograph" by REM and Natalie Merchant
"True Faith" by Jukka (New Order song)

and Luke's favorite,
"Chewy Chewy" by 1910 Fruitgum Company (this is the weirdest song I think I've ever heard). It's creepy yet oddly fun to listen to!

I'm so glad you like the CD--many of those awesome songs from the 80s (ones I used to try to tape off the radio!) are from a brilliant mix that I got from a friend named Matt--his weblog is at www.scrubbles.net . (I just want to name my sources--such a good English teacher.)

"Chewy Chewy," though? That's totally my doing. :-)

Oh, and just in case folks don't know, the suit I'm wearing in that picture would be WAY too big for me now.

That is true. That suit would swallow him cuz he weighs about 100 pounds now!
