Chris Wants You To Know that He's Damn Near Famous. And Controversial.

Chris wanted me to let YOU know that his former bandmate from Excalibur (which rocked Decatur back in 93) has made it big and will be performing on The Tonight Show on Friday. Check out this article on Phillip Shouse. He is the lead guitarist for Morningwood. Damn---from the guys dressing up like KISS, to one of them performing with Kiss...wow.

Another kinda famous person Chris knows (and used to terrorize the neighborhoods of Decatur with) is Chris Stover. He has won a major award for this.

Chris ALSO wants to point out that he stayed in the poolhouse of one Mr. Steve Tisch, Beverly Hills homeowner, across the street from Jay Leno. The house was formerly owned by Michael Landon, then Bill Cosby, and then an entertainment lawyer sold it to Steve Tisch. (Chris was in LA with Brannen, his buddy, also from Austin High School, whose cousin married Steve Tisch. ) He produced Forrest Gump, and other movies. The bench Chris is sitting on is in the Tisch backyard, and yes, that's the exact bench that Gump sat on and said, "Those look like comfortable shoes."

Chris ALSO wants you to know that he insulted Rosanne Barr's ex-husband, Tom Arnold, when Arnold asked him if "I had ever dated my sister or seen a UFO" because of my accent. Chris replied, "Did you make that up, or did you get it from Rosanne? I suppose your career is really sweeping the nation right now." This was in 1997. He replied, "Do you know who I am?" Chris replied, "I could give a crap." This was at the premiere of Snake Eyes, the Nicholas Cage movie.
Chris said that Arnold's new wife laughed at Arnold being insulted.

Another odd connection... the preacher who was shot by his wife, also graduated from Austin High with Chris and Phillip in 93.

"You almost hit it big with me, baby." Chris just told me. "Course I wouldn't be with you if I was really famous. You can put that in there."

"You see how famous I am, don't you?" He just asked.

"That's a good entry." He just added.

Very interesting info here!

I need to go back to your post and re-read the connection with the band from Tonight's Leno. I'm sure we'll watch it this evening and I'll want to share the scoop with Donnie.

Only a few degrees of separation from some famous folks...a name-dropper's dream! Believe me...I know! I AM one!

(Oh, reminds me of a post I wanted to write...TTFN)

I hope everyone who reads this knows that although everything is true on here, Chris was being silly. You never know how people read things. ;)
